BP Spill: How about putting NASA engineers on the job? |
|
NASA has plenty of experience in material science and working in locations that are difficult. How about an Apollo 13 type mission - call all top engineers to the scene to find a solution. Could be a show of trying to do everything possible to stop the leak and bringing our best minds to the table instead of just watching the gulf turn into the dead sea.

No love for oil companies here.
But the rank and file are blue collar people just like the rank and file just like at any other company and many if not most are fine Democrats.
I won't even mention that most of the Nasa and military establishment has a huge majority of freeper types.
Might want to tune that brush a tad.

4. You presume NASA has the best minds |

No offense to NASA, but it's hardly the hotbed of engineering and science talent it was 30-40 years ago. I never, ever hear from young engineers or scientists that they want to go work there...even the ones with interest in space-related stuff.
