Dick Cheney 'Needs To Testify' About BP Oil Spill, Says Chris Matthews
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/13/dick-cheney-needs-to-test_n_575835.html

Former Vice President and one-time Halliburton CEO Dick Cheney should be called to testify about the gulf oil spill, according to Chris Matthews.

Matthews argues that because Cheney held secret meetings with big oil to develop the Bush administration's energy policy, it's impossible to know who was responsible for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Matthews elaborates:

You see, in the cozy world of oil and those charged by public oath with regulating it, these are leaks that can be prevented. Halliburton is now saying it`s not to blame for what happened in the Gulf of Mexico. How on Earth are we to know who was responsible for this in this incredibly incestuous little set up?

We have the vice president of our country, fresh from his job as CEO of the oil company, holding secret meetings with oil companies in the White House. From top to bottom, the government President Obama inherited was stocked with Halliburton people, supposedly looking at Halliburton, while the whole thing looks like they were looking out for Halliburton. Don`t you think?

1. Testify? Dick Cheney needs to be charged by a Grand Jury with 11 counts of murder
Dick Cheney has a list of potential charges against him that could fill the New York City phone book/

3. Matthews is a fucking idiot
And I believe the asswipe has a law degree. So tell me, what possible relevance could anything Cheney would have to say have to the current spill (its a "blow out" not a spill? The fucking well had not even been drilled when Cheney ran Halliburton.

4. Wasn't Cheney responsible for removing the safety requirements?
Because they were "too costly"?

8. Who knows? And what difference does it make when existing requirements were not met?

Reports have it that the testing of the equipment that failed was falsified, the equipment was not maintained, vital subsystems did not work at all. So its really immaterial that regulations were changed years ago - the point at the moment is that even those that remained in effect were ignored - and Cheney has nothing to do with that. Bringing Cheney's name incites anger, which accomplishes nothing, but it also diverts attention from the real problems that caused this disaster. What I'm saying is don't waste time on bullshit, stick to the point - something that fucking idiot Matthews seems incapable of doing.

6. Has anyone seen Cheney in the last 3 to 4 weeks?
He doesn't want to answer questions. Yes, he is involved. It goes back to the secret energy meetings. The Supreme Court ruled in his favor. Remember?

7. Cheney's not gonna rat on himself or his oil buddies.
You have to find a weak link to get what you want to know. The only thing that will produce a weak link is threat of jail time.
