WASHINGTON — A man charged in the killing of federal intern Chandra Levy is scheduled to appear in court.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ingmar Guandique (gwan-DEE'-kay) has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other counts in Levy's death. She disappeared in 2001 and her remains were found a year later in Washington's Rock Creek Park.

Did this guy act alone or was it murder-for-hire?

Chandra Levy worked at the Bureau of Prisons.. She knew something about Timothy McVeigh and OKC... then suddenly ends up dead? Interesting....

1. It was a serial killer

He had killed a few interns in the past as well...

Maybe he's for hire, but I'm inclined to believe he was just twisted

2. That's true.. he had been attacking other women joggers in the park..
..the newspaper never mentioned if he was convicted for any of those attacks?

It is strange that the Park Police failed to connect Gwandique to Levy's death? They said something to the effect..."it wasn't our job"?

This is a quote from the Washington Post article on Levy's disappearance...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/metro/specials/chandra/ch6_1.html

"Green did not include any comment by Guandique about Chandra in his report, and he does not remember telling any other officers at the time. Back then, it didn't seem important. He said he was focused on the assaults on Wiegand and Shilling.

Chandra could be anywhere. Her disappearance was not a Park Police case.

"It wasn't mine to pursue," he said recently."

3. ... because they were trying to railroad Gary Condit for it ...
... why bother to look for other suspects when you have a Democrat's career you can ruin?

7. Gary Condit lied to the police during their investigation
and acted very suspiciously by driving out to the suburbs to dispose of a gift box in a dumpster.

As we know he turned out not to be the murderer, but based upon his behavior I don't blame the police for suspecting him.

9. Let's keep trashing an innocent man because he "acted guilty."
I hope you never serve on a jury.

10. Come on now.
Do you really not understand the difference between serving on a jury (where I would only vote to convict if guilt was proved beyond a reasonable doubt) and the early stages of a police investigation where every lead and hunch needs to be followed up?

When it turns out that some sleazy guy twice the victim's age was sleeping with her, when he acts furtively and lies to the police, and when he is a public figure who has everything to lose by the affair becoming public, can you really blame the police for suspecting him?

5. I feel sorry for her parents BUT
I wonder if they and Billy Williams their lawyer ever apologized to Conduit. After all they and Williams were very very vocal in pushing the police chief to go after him. If they had asked the police to pursue all leads and suspects they might have found her body before they had the witch hunt for Conduit. This shows that once the police pick a suspect they go all out to make the clues fit that person, whether they are guilty or not.

11. Why should they apologize to a man who wouldn't cooperate with the investigation of their daughter's
disappearance?

6. I don't buy it; sounds like Albert deSalvo re-dux. This guy wasn't a serial killer, like Bundy.

And CL left her apt in a hurry, not in a way that suggests she just went jogging.

This is a way for the govt to close the case, but there is ZERO evidence---not forensic, not eye-witness---to link this "suspect" to CL.

8. Good point. There are many other questions as well...
.. Chandra Levy was Gary Condit's girlfriend. Condit, was Chairman of the Congressional Intel Committee.

As I don my super Miami-CSI-crime-fighters cap...(no, it's not tin foil..) one has to wonder what pillow talk she heard that could cause her death?

Just sayin'.. she knew SOMETHING about the OKC bombing...?
