because they decided the teacher was some kind of a lefty. They stole a poster from the classroom wall which traced the labor movement in the US, and replaced it with a "Working people vote Republican" bumper sticker. They opened and rifled through closed boxes, then complained when they discovered copies of the United States Constitution which had been provided by the ACLU. One jackass commented on the issue by trumpeting: "That teacher's desk belongs to the TAXPAYERS", by way of excusing the crime. No doubt Hannity and Bill-o the clown will be frothing at he mouth over this assault on a teacher's civil rights.
And perhaps someone should tell that particular asshole commenter that America's nuclear arsenal also belongs to the taxpayers. I say he needs to inform the closest missile silo that he's coming to claim "his" shit. He needs to make sure that they know that he's armed, and won't take no for an answer.

3. The Knox county teabaggers were probably bent out of shape by the fact Obama was in the vicinity

just a few weeks ago (he spoke at the Expo, same building where the convention was held) and the fact that they had to go to the liberal heart of the state, Portland. Probably also saw too much diversity in the Parkside neighborhood too. The social studies classroom was just icing on the cake.

The weird thing is Knox county is far from the most conservative part of the state.
