LA Times poll - Arizona boycott
Was the L.A. City Council right to pass a boycott of Arizona?

Yes. Arizona needs to feel the consequences of enacting a bad law. 3% (783 votes)

Yes, though the boycott should be more of a symbolic gesture than an official measure. 0.5% (130 votes)

No, but only because doing so is probably illegal and not in L.A.'s interest. 4.6% (1,182 votes)

No. The city should mind its own business. 91.9% (23,719 votes)

1. Whew. Those comments are terrifying.
Ten bucks that those aren't actual LA folks writing. I live in LA and I've heard the exact opposite around here. So, either I hang out in a better part of town, or this is just being freeped by a pack of Palin lovers.

3. Agreed. LA has a HUGE Latino population. There's no way that that many negative
replies came from people in LA, it just wouldn't happen.

I lived in the San Fernando Vally for 5 years or so, and I know darn well what the sentiment there would have been.

Now if you drive north to Bakersfield or Fresno, that's a whole different story, still a huge Latino population, but a huge number of racist dill holes too.
