Protesters say NATO attack killed Afghan civilians
Civilians still dying in this awful war:

Protesters say NATO attack killed Afghan civilians

KABUL — Hundreds of protesters brandished sticks, threw stones and burned an American flag Friday in eastern Afghanistan as they accused NATO forces of killing civilians in an overnight raid, but the alliance said eight insurgents were killed in the attack.

Also Friday, the governor of eastern Paktiya province narrowly escaped an attack when a suicide bomber jumped in front of a vehicle in his convoy in the provincial capital, Gardez, the governor’s spokesman said.

In the neighboring province of Nangahar, more than 500 people poured into the streets in the Surkh Rod district to protest the raid by international forces.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s office said in a faxed statement that ten "innocent people" were killed in the Surkh Rod village of Saydan, and that he "strongly condemned" the operation.

And it looks like the 'spies' are giving NATO forces false information causing the targeting of innocent civilians.

So, when Obama orders the illegal assassination of a 'terrorist', what if the information he is given as to the whereabouts of the 'terrorist' is also false, causing the deaths of more innocent civilians?

Safiya Sidiqi, a parliamentary lawmaker from Nangahar, accused allied forces in the operation of relying on flawed intelligence fed by enemies of the state who want to drive a wedge between civilians and the government.

"Unfortunately, they are getting wrong intelligence reports, or the spies and these intelligence people are purposely providing incorrect information," she said by phone.

And it's not going to end anytime soon or without more tragic and unnecessary deaths:

‘Hard fighting’ ahead in Afghanistan, Obama warns

WASHINGTON — The war in Afghanistan will get worse before it gets better, President Barack Obama said Wednesday, but he declared his plan to begin withdrawing U.S. forces next year remains on track.

"What I’ve tried to emphasize is the fact that there is going to be some hard fighting over the next several months," Obama said at a White House news conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. He spoke as the U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan prepared for a push into the Taliban’s birthplace in Kandahar Province.

The campaign to wrest parts of Kandahar from Taliban control, which is to begin in earnest in June, is expected to be among the bloodiest of the nearly nine-year-old war.

Endless war. This war will last longer than the Vietman War. But it's been very profitable for Halliburton et al so I suppose it is successful if you are a member of the MIC.
