Limbaugh today- "make a profit on the dollar collapsing"

CALLER: Great. It's an honor to talk to you. Thank you for everything you're doing for us. It's two questions to ask you, and I please need your input on it. Please. If the dollar collapses, how do I protect my savings?

RUSH: Well, now you're putting me in a risky situation because my job is not financial advisory.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: But if the dollar collapses there's one thing: You could short the dollar. You could find out how to short the dollar and make a profit on the dollar collapsing

So right after a rant in which and in which he blamed Obama for the economic disaster (the nerve of him going after BP!), and blaming Obama for the coming disaster, ignoring the border (he named the principle of a school for acting against the AZ profiling law- boy is she going to get some heat), destroying the education system, etc. he suggests the caller could profit if the dollar collapses.

The last 20 years Limbaugh and his talk radio wannabes have been essential for creating and mobilizing the made-to-order misinformed constituencies like the teabagers that enabled the deregulation of the oil industry and banking and insurance and for lying us into Iraq. Limbaugh's invisible army. The talk radio monopoly has been the main tool used to bring the middle class and our economy to it's knees. They couldn't have done it without all that coordinated uncontested repetition.

With that comment one could argue that is what he meant to do. He's already said he wants Obama to fail. As head of the New Republican Party and main enabler of the obstruction of anything the Democrats want to do he needs to be asked to explain if profiting from the collapse of the dollar is being patriotic.

For the last 20 years Limbaugh has been very successful turning molehills into mountains and distracting the media from real mountains. He has the capability of influencing the stock market. He needs to be asked if he personally is shorting the dollar.

Don't bother emailing his show, they likely count all emails as votes of approval.

2. I hope Rush and all of his listeners ARE shorting the dollar....

because they're all going to lose tons and tons of money and then maybe see him as something other than a genius.

Trust me, if people are getting their financial advice from Limbaugh - they've got major losses coming to them.

3. There is a risk to any currency position, but if you think the dollar is going down

you determine your level of investment you want to make on that and play it.

4. I hate to tell you this....

but shorting stocks is a regular practice in the markets. Even the dollar.

I am no fan of fatboy, but this thread isn't much a big deal if you are in the stock market.
