Political Research Associates: Researching the Right for Progressive Changemakers

LINK: http://www.publiceye.org/index.php

I've utilized them off-and-on for about 10 years, but they have been around for 27 years, according to their site.

From their site: "Political Research Associates is a progressive think tank devoted to supporting movements that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society. We expose movements, institutions, and ideologies that undermine human rights. Political Research Associates seeks to advance progressive thinking and action by providing research-based information, analysis, and referrals.

Here's a list of their main research topics:

Civil Liberties & Repression
Economic Justice
LGBTQ Equity
Racial Justice
Reproductive Justice
Christian Right & Theocracy
Understanding the Right

Chip Berlet, Sara Diamond, Jean Hardisty (and others) provide some very good background papers on a range of subjects which we discuss here on DU (at least the ones I am familiar with, such as right-wing populism, white supremacy, and the resurgence of the Christian Right & Theocracy).

Some of the papers could use a bit of up-to-date revision; but they provide some solid, basic understanding of the history and development of ideologies and organizations that many of us discuss as fundamental threats to liberty and progress toward equality and social justice.

Anywaaaay...just a "heads-up" for those interested.

ON EDIT: ...my punctuation sucks... :dunce:

6. I used to subscribe to "the public eye" in the 90's.
They had outstanding studies and reports on gay issues and anti-gay groups back then. If I remember correctly there are/were in Somerville, MA.
