Need vs. Want
We all need shelter, in additon to food, clothing and healthcare. This is ridiculous...

1. I live in an area that has some of the priciest real estate and one of the biggest estates
Edited on Sat May-15-10 09:17 AM by KittyWampus
What the rest of us are left with- not enough people to serve as volunteer fire fighters and EMT's. Too much traffic on roads that will never be big enough to be safe for that many cars. Real Estate developers who build on land that is too wet and hence mosquito territory thus leading to new homeowners wanting chemical sprays to kill of the pests. Declining fish stock for the Bay Men who used to make a living on the water.

This place is like a movie set. A veneer of the pastoral over a heart of elitist darkness.

Most of the wealthy and super-wealthy people never really even see where they are. They could just as easily go into a virtual reality version and experience the same vapid entertainment.

2. Healthcare?
Who knew?

I haven't seen a doctor in fifteen years and I certainly don't expect recent legislation to make that more of an option.

3. I hope you don't need healthcare...
...but if you do, I don't see why it should bankrupt you.

6. The part I find most interesting
is how long most of these homes have been on the market. One has been on since 2003.

These are not people who worry about paying the mortgage the way we mere mortals do.

And they have no impact on the prices mere mortals pay.
