Poll for Arizona Immigration law |
|
Front page CNN is a poll today, "do you agree with Arizona law?" 63% YES................... The other day their poll asked if you agree with the new ethics law and it was 60 something yes. What is going on? Are there really that many people who agree with this??????????? Or are we not DU'ing these polls. I am really disturbed if so many really agree..

1. The CNN poll doesn't say "do you agree with Arizona law" |

It says "Should the federal government challenge Arizona's immigration law in court?" And 63% voted YES http://www.cnn.com

3. Internet "polls" that allow anyone to vote have no validity whatsoever |
|
They attract people who feel strongly about the question.
A scientifically valid poll must have a careful selection process to ensure that responses reflect the opinion of the population whose opinions are being measured.

6. Yes, many really do agree |
|
The Federal government has done a lousy job for many decades of sealing the borders, they're quite porous. Also, the IRS has a program that officially winks at illegal immigration, it automatically takes away Social Security "credits" from accounts where it knows the numbers have either been stolen or just simply illegally used at random.
The Federal government gets to set immigration policy, but pays little or nothing for the burdens of illegal immigrants, whether they occur in the school systems, the healthcare systems, or the law enforcement/justice system. The financial burdens end up being paid for by local taxpayers.
I'm not surprised to see this reaction, and since somebody had to take the plunge and go first, I expect this sort of legislation to spread to many other states as well. The undocumented are going to go elsewhere, and as long as they have safe havens in the US, they're not going home.

8. Their online polls are easily manipulated. |
|
I just voted from Safari and again from Firefox. I never take the results of their front-page polls seriously.
