1. As I've said since the 80s
(at least). In what religion is GREED a good thing? Quick answer is NONE OF THEM! But that's what capitalism is, GREED. And unregulated capitalism is unregulated GREED!

9. i really wouldn't say capitalism is greed
i would say unregulated capitalism is unfortunatly greed. in it's true form, someone would come up with a product, determine whether there is a market for that product and sell that product for what the market would bear for that product.

unfortunatly, that is not what we see today.

10. Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree
When you say they would sell the product for what the market will bear, you're saying that if the market will bear ridiculous pricing then that's OK. Ridiculous pricing is the same as greed. What if the product is something that would benefit the world? It's going to be in high demand because of it's benefits, ergo it's going to be, under ANY type of capitalism, a product with a high price tag. IF that price tag is MUCH more than the cost of production, then that's greed. It's hard to argue, IMO, that capitalism in ANY of it's forms is not greed.

We DO agree that unregulated profit is unregulated greed.

11. under the true capitalistic model
if there is a high demand for a product, the price would be lower. now granted this is what i remember from my introductiion to business classes almost 30 years ago.

15. That would have to mean that production.............
of said product would overcome demand or at least balance demand. I don't see that happening under capitalism as we know it or, for that matter, as we HAVE known it in this country and worldwide. They usually UNDER produce to keep demand artificially high.

14. Exactly! the word "mammon" actually means "the pursuit of wealth",
not, "the love of money", as many neo-con/evangelicals believe.

5. I voted Jesus!
That is, today's Jesus as the sheep's clothing over the other mythical being, his arch-rival.
