CIA drone kills TIMES SQUARE BOMBER'S teachers

CIA drones kill 14 in attack on Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad's teachers

BY Richard Sisk
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON - CIA drone wolf packs hammered the craggy havens of Faisal Shahzad's Pakistani mentors on Tuesday, killing at least 14 in the heaviest air attack since the botched Times Square bombing.

The pilotless aircraft fired 18 Hellfire missiles that hit a vehicle, training areas and a nearby compound for terrorists in Pakistan's remote North Waziristan area near the Afghan border.

Shahzad, 30, a naturalized American arrested at Kennedy Airport trying to flee the country May 3, has told the FBI he trained with the Pakistani Taliban in North Waziristan.

36. Because we are? This news "tidbit" is about as sophisticated and believable as the
logic behind the movie "Men Who Stare At Goats." :wtf: IMO, the CIA's PsyOps are not even trying to be professional any longer. They just throw out "logical bullshit" and expect the unwashed masses to believe it.

"Oh yeah, that's beautifully logical MAN! Makes perfect sense ... someone call CNN for the scoop? ... by the way, pass the bong?"

8. If these were Shazad's teachers killed, we made a huge mistake
Because they apparently couldn't teach Shahzad jackshit when it came to making bombs. Now they actually might get somebody competent as a replacement.

19. More like a million a head, if we must engage in this kind of calculus...
but I hope no one's implying that cheaper ways of killing people are therefore better.

War seems eternal and innate within humans. Cheaper is better. Maybe we could have a Vietnam retro-sale on missiles. Ahhh, the good ole' days. Maybe we could recruit His Clownliness Georgie the Conqueror Jr. to break out his trusty sword and lead a few missions.

31. Actually what seems to be eternal and innate is the ability to rationalize one's own crimes...
with bogus wisdom about how it's always been this way.

Bet you didn't say that when the Towers were hit. Such justifications are always for "our" side, no?

33. Nah Hellfire is pretty cheap killing device. "Only" $68,000 a pop.
Edited on Sat May-15-10 06:23 PM by Statistical
So $68,000 a pop x 18 = $1.22 million in ordinance. 12 people = roughly $100K each.
Of course you have operator time, fuel, and maintenance time of drone. Still pretty damn cheap.

That is the larger problem is dollar to casualties drones are incredibly "efficient". Hell $1.2 million doesn't even pay for the maintenance costs for putting a strike fighter in the air for couple hours.
