And laws that brand a whole segment of society (12 million) consisting of families and human beings trying to get by as non-persons , and that allow them to be exploited are in fact IMMORAL laws.

The only human thing to do is to fight to have those laws changed. The same way the civil rights movement fought to abolish Jim Crow.

That is all I have to say about this subject , anything more is just excuses for deep rooted Xenophobia and Racism.

I am with them , and willing to help, as much as I can (and yes , I am totally legal). Who else on DU is ?

1. I'm not with you.
There is a need for order and fairness. Many come here legally and that is the way it should be, as difficult as this may seem. Cutting in line should not be rewarded.

2. Amen...there is a short jump between making those persons illegal and ..
making my mariage illegal. I'm a black woman married for 9 years to a white man. If the other side can get away with outlawing gay marriage in perpetuity, making a segment of folks illegal simply based on their ethnicty, it's NOT a stretch to outlaw interracial marriage.

4. Legal and moral are not always the same thing.
In fact, they're often very different. That's basic logic.
