A few years ago a gun manufacturer made guns that were red, yellow, blue and green. They looked like toys and a child, or even an adult, might think were harmless toys. Of course, the NRA defended the colored guns. I believe the outcry against the colored guns ended their production, but I'm not sure.

I was next to him on the firing range shooting at targets when a drill sergeant came up behind him and said something to him. I guess it is hard to tell from the picture but it just seems "off" to me. And I am not anti-gun in any way. When I was in middle school, a boy in my class shot himself by accident with his older brother's gun and died. He was 14. That did not turn me off guns, just the foolish gung-ho aspect of them. And then there was my sister-in-laws former boyfriend, always waving around the gun showing it off.

I think I have a reasonable view about it. I don't think that gun control really works. On the other hand, to be a gun owner you need to be a responsible one. There is a middle ground, right?
