Tea-Basher: Man Arrested for Beating Two Women Critical of Anti-Obama Car Sign

An argument that started over a derogatory statement about President Barack Obama written on the back window of a car resulted in the arrest of two people Friday night, according to a Gainesville Police report... Black, an employee of The Gainesville Sun, was charged with child abuse and simple battery, his arrest report stated.

The incident started at about 8:20 p.m. in the parking lot of Hollie's apartment complex when Black and another woman had a heated argument over the Obama statement on Black's car window, according to the report.

The report stated that Black hit the woman's legs with his car door and twice punched her in the face.

A 14-year-old nephew of the woman tried to stop Black and was hit in the face by Black, the report stated. Hollie then came out of her apartment with a knife and repeatedly threatened Black with it, police allege. argument, that it happened.

Woman 1 sees sign and gets pissed
Woman 1 accosts driver upon parking and does not allow driver to egress.
Man is determined to egress vehicle and does so resulting in Woman 1 being struck by the car door.
Woman 1 gets highly agitated and Boy (I've seen some very big 14 year olds mind you) comes to assist
Boy charges Man and Man pushes boy back/away.
Woman 1 now hits Man for pushing boy.
Man Hits Woman 1 after being hit by her.
Woman 2 now comes out with knife.

I have no idea how this really happened and I seriously doubt that the whole truth well ever be known. Considering human emotion and the "adaptability" of human memory, those involved may not even truly know what happened or in what order it actually happened.

My only .02 in all this is to not accost someone that displays signs that you do not agree with. They have that right and to try and start something with them can (and in this case did) end with violence. Not good.

this is an example of a couple of assholes colliding.

The woman was probably the reason this whole thing escalated. She saw a political sign/bumper sticker she didn't like. Started an argument and got in over her head. Retreats to home...then instead of just calling the police and waiting for them to show up she goes after the dude with a knife. Had she killed him with her knife it would have been murder...so, I don't know what the fuck she was thinking. Other than she probably wasn't thinking at all.

The 14 year old isn't very bright either. That probably runs in the family. I'll defend my family members but if they act like idiots and get into a fight then I'll let them get their ass kicked. It would probably be a good teaching moment.

As bad as the "tea basher's" actions were...he was just minding his own business until the woman started shit. Then he started making some stupid decision. But she got the snowball rolling down hill. I have a problem with him hitting the 14 y/o but if someone charged me I probably wouldn't ask for ID before I defended myself.

So, this is just an example of a group of assholes in their natural habitat...jail.

Black shouldn't be charged. It is obvious this women came at him to start a fight and that is exactly what she got. The women who brought out a knife should be the only one who gets charged. You don't get to storm out and pull a knife on any random people who are arguing in a parking lot.
