Sudden increase in spam and petitions - any correlation between the two?
In the past few weeks I am getting a sudden increase in spam – I also get about 15 petitions to sign a day. I study them and sign the ones I understand and think are needed. Is there a correlation between the petitions I sign and the increase in spam?

Also, my name and e-mail may be listed on Facebook and Twitter but I never use or post on either one of them.

1. Somebody probably went out of business and sold their mail list
Something you signed up for long ago. They promised they would never ever reveal your info but when the creditors came calling they decided forever was just a word.
