Idaho GOPers protest International Baccalaureate program
This is a news story from the paper I work for:

http://www.cdapress.com/news/local_news/article_acac49c7-6bac-597e-94a8-684af79f819c.html

It seems some of the people in this area have decided the International Baccalaureate program, which the Coeur d'Alene school system uses in a few buildings in the district, is an anti-American plot to turn their good, God-fearing, young'uns over to the United Nations. A few people have even called the Hayden Meadows Elementary School, which uses the IB Primary Years Programme curriculum, to ask if they fly the American flag (they do) and recite the Pledge of Allegiance (they do that too).

Oh yes: you will be pleased to know "sustainable development" actually means confiscating private property and turning it over to the United Nations.

2. It's amazing that today in 2010 that a group of Americans
have turned into anti-intellectual idiots.

They are against public education and university eduction, they bow to their corporate and religious masters and yet claim they are real Americans. How sad are these people?

3. They are absolutely nuts.
Why on Earth do any Americans elect these idiots?

I still find it difficult to believe that there are any people with a reasonable level of intelligence that would want to elect to the position of President the only beauty queen to have never wished for World peace. Then I hear about stuff like this and understand that the reasonable level of intelligence part does not apply.

7. It's Idaho.
I'm in the First Congressional District. We have two Republicans trying to unseat Walt Minnick, who is about as progressive as you're going to get around here.

One of them is Vaughn Ward. He has been endorsed by Sarah Palin. There's a huge controversy around him because his website was at one time full of statements plagiarized from other Republicans' websites (http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2010/may/13/candidates-position-statements-cribbed-other-websi/)--and in one case he ripped off a line from Senator Ben Nelson's site. Last I checked, Ben Nelson only plays a Republican on TV.

The other is Raul Labrador, Tea Party Boise's choice. They chose him for his record of "resisting his own party leaders."

Oh yes. I can't figure this one out. Here in Idaho we have State Bill 654. It makes "any physical harm or threats used with the intention of inducing an abortion" a criminal offense. All the people who were in the Idaho legislature when this bill went through are trumpeting the pro-life stance they displayed by voting for this bill...I'd call it a women's rights bill (threatening to beat the shit out of a woman to get her to abort the pregnancy you caused because you're too good to wear a rubber SHOULD be a crime!) but you can't use that term in this state.

4. The posts below the article is frightening in the stupidity.
Their inability to express themselves makes the whole exchange virtually incomprehensible.
