Sadly, I see Specter narrowly winning here on Tuesday

He's got big Eddie Rendell's machine working overtime for him right now. I'm seeing it all over the place.

The same machine that helped Hillary crush Obama in the 2008 primaries.

You can't win in PA as a Democrat, statewide, unless Big Eddie's machine is working for you.

I hope I'm wrong.... but I know I'm right.

I'll be voting for Sestak... but don't be surprised when you read that Specter won 52-47.

1. I haven't been watching that Senate race.

But if a machine thinks it has some effects.

I always think of a line from a film and a concept, those that "took the wrench" don't have to worry about anything about machines.

I like this scene from Good Will Hunting.

I wonder how a discussion would end up between.

The original thought is context, think about it.

4. Why is the union backing Specter? (I'm just curious -- I always tend to think
unions have the same philosophies I do, and Arlen clearly doesn't.)

5. Beats me.
Specter has stated that he absolutely opposes EFCA. That alone should take him off our radar. It doesn't make any sense at all. Nearly everyone I've talked to about it on the job is voting for Sestak though, in my trade and all the others.

3. I just feel if Arlen wins the primary Toomey will win the general,
and Toomey is unstable and wicked.

Not disputing your observations, but I'm rooting for Joe.

7. I agree with you.... if Eddie's machine got behind Sestak in the GE, he could beat Toomey

9. I don't know how much stock to put into it, but Intrade indicates that
Joe Sestak will win the Pennsylvania Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate nomination:

Specter currently given only a 33 percent chance.

8. As for Rendell's machine crushing Obama in 2008
I found a map at the following website:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Democratic_primary,_2008

Looks like Hillary did OK without Philly, where I understand Rendell's machine is headquartered. I'd say her win was due to Limpballs' "Operation Chaos", which encouraged Rethugs to re-register as Democratic voters in time for the 2008 primary. I'd venture to guess that a lot of those stealth voters didn't bother changing their registrations back, especially when Specter bolted from the Repuke party.

The only question is, do they want to punish him Tuesday, or just vote for him so that no matter what, a Rethuglican wins in November?
