1. See, the problem isn't the spill.... |
|
...it's the greedy lawyers who will try to get some money from poor little BP.

2. I love it, but I would expect it from a NYC paper....I guess the real lawyers |
|
are in DC, though.
This is the GOP philosophy - BP should not be liable for more tham $75 million - and no lawsuits - don't want to hurt the oil companies, you know.

4. That's a very unfortunate image to be pasted onto BP's logo |

It is an iconic Viet Nam War image, reversed and silhouetted. http://static.guim.co.uk/Guardian/observer/gallery/2008/jan/17/1/PD452906@FILE--South-Vietnamese-9743.jpg

And yet it is but a pale shadow of my anger.
It is, I think, suitable commentary concerning our relationship with capitalism.
Edit: I lifted it from a post here Saturday, from a British site, I think.

The line forms at the right...and it's getting longer. Damn right lawyers are out there looking at BP's liabilities in the destruction of people's lives, that's why we have them. It's a shame that people exercizing their right for redress are looked upon in such disdain by the corporate media, but it's par for the course.
Unfortunately I expect that BP will fight to delay and appeal and re-appeal each and every suit to delay having to be held accountable.
