9. I create CAPTIONS in the tradition of such things. But they try to capture

the essence of a person, what she or he would have said if we were able to tap into his or her meager little sensibilities/intellects/predispositions/etc.

The tradition of CAPTIONing at DU goes back nearly a decade. The beginning of the Bush presidency saw it in its heyday, and I was lucky enough to ride the waves back then.

The concept is a bit like you see on Steward or Maher or on SNL (they used to have and maybe still do a faux news program which had a section which gave little quips to images of people in the news). At DU (and elsewhere, even on t.v.) the CAPTIONS are often longer and usually show the person's central hypocrisy (as here) ort stupidity or . . . whatever.
