responsible and demanding prosecution of the criminals in this administration sign in here.

Comment if you want to, or just post a subject-line.

3. guess it's just you and me, bobthedrummer ...
i guess it could be worse, and you, or i, could just be one alone.
i'm lucky, you can keep a beat. so, let's march on, i'll sing...

THROW YOURSELF LIKE A SEED
Shake off this sadness, and recover your spirit;
sluggish you will never see the wheel of fate
that brushes by your heel as it turns going by,
the man who wants to live is the man in whom life is abundant.

Now you are only giving food to that final pain
which is slowly winding you in the nets of death,
but to live is to work, and the only thing which lasts
is the work; start then, turn to the work.

Throw yourself like a seed as you walk, and into your own field,
don't turn your face for that would be to turn to death,
and do not let the past weigh down your motion.

Leave what's alive in the furrow, what's dead in yourself,
for life does not move in the same way as a group of clouds;
from your work you will be able one day to gather yourself.

Miquel de Unamuno

appears we have our work cut out for us.

7. I get so frustrated
everytime you go to the internet and find another crime this administration has committed and nothing is down about it. When are they going to hold someone accountable for this firing attorneys mess. And look at the worst...a guy was fired, or asked to resign in one of the western states because he insisted on trying to find the person that murdered a prosecuter...What was the prosecuter looking into that got him killed. It had to be something to do with a republican, because why were they in such a rush to fire the attorney checking into it.

I feel like writing my own History Book and leaving it to my descendants so they will know what really went on in the eight years of the presidency that bush and his henchmen stole.

10. Not gonna forget.
My list of criminals starts with the World Bank and the IMF, goes through Henry Kissinger and heads on down to the current bunch of criminals......and I have a long, long memory. In fact, my memory starts with the first crop of nuclear tests on American soil and runs through the experiments in mind control.

I don't damn well forget any of it, and would like to see this entire administration, G.H.W.Bush and a bunch of others in front of a war crimes tribunal.

19. Will never give up
I just can't bring myself to type "NGU" because of the medical association. In my field, "NGU" is an abbreviation for a sexually transmitted disease: non-gonococcal urethritis (Google it, if you don't believe me).

But I'm not giving up. No way, no how.

Little man vs big machine

Mario Savio's speech before the FSM sit-in

Editorial note: This is the conclusion of Mario Savio's memorable speech, before Free Speech Movement demonstrators entered Sproul Hall to begin their sit-in on December 3, 1964. His climactic words about "the operation of the machine" have been quoted widely ever since, out of context, as the existential emblem of the FSM. (Or mis-quoted, since he said "passively" rather than "tacitly.") The beginning of Savio's talk -- about the technical details of the failed negotiations and the administration's reprisal --has never been transcribed. We hope to make it available soon, for it provides a fuller view of the balance of thought and feeling in his speech, and in the FSM.

We have an autocracy which runs this university. It's managed. We asked the following: if President Kerr actually tried to get something more liberal out of the Regents in his telephone conversation, why didn't he make some public statement to that effect? And the answer we received -- from a well-meaning liberal -- was the following: He said, "Would you ever imagine the manager of a firm making a statement publicly in opposition to his board of directors?" That's the answer! Now, I ask you to consider: if this is a firm, and if the Board of Regents are the board of directors, and if President Kerr in fact is the manager, then I'll tell you something: the faculty are a bunch of employees, and we're the raw material! But we're a bunch of raw material that don't mean to have any process upon us, don't mean to be made into any product, don't mean to end up being bought by some clients of the University, be they the government, be they industry, be they organized labor, be they anyone! We're human beings!

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!

Now, no more talking. We're going to march in singing "We Shall Overcome." Slowly; there are a lot of us. Up here to the left -- I didn't mean the pun.
