Listening to this BP guy reminds me of |

when Craig Fuller, Bush, Sr.'s campaign manager, who appeared in the mid-80's. His entry into the medium of TV and radio was marked by a usage of language to which I had never been subjected. The gabble-degook, the absurdist, and off-topic answers to questions such as "What if there's a hurricaine?", make me want to vomit fast a a comet.

and Lieberman was freakin' lame. It appeared to be just another "hearing", as he went through the motions.

Those people are taught the dubious art of bafflegab, the ability to generate a constant stream of verbal diarrhea without sounding repetitious in case they have to do a couple of hours at a time of covering some disaster during which nothing new is actually happening.
Sarah Palin is an example of that and it's served her well, although anyone with the fortitude to pay close enough attention knows that hers is mostly word salad with occasional catch phrases and buzzwords thrown in.
He's also taken cues from the GOP candidates who memorize canned answers that don't quite answer any of the questions because those answers are tagged to single words within a question.
The combination fools the stupid quite nicely.
