An attorney for the family of a 7-year-old girl slain during a weekend raid at their Detroit home says video footage contradicts the police department's version of events.

4. "Accidental discharge" - meh.

I lived in a town in New Hampshire where the local chief of police was all gung ho about his new SWAT team (mid 80's when this was new) so they broke into some poor slobs home at 4am (this is a commuter suburb not some high crime urban ghetto) without identifying themselves, shot the place up and in the process of doing so "accidentally discharged" multiple shots into the chest of the alleged marijuana dealer as he stood in his children's bedroom, killing him right in front of his kids. They found, supposedly, one roach. The only guns all belonged to the police. Nobody offered any resistance.
