the media didn't discover blumenthal's lies....
McMahon campaign says they ‘fed’ Blumenthal story to New York Times, then backs away from claim

UPDATE – 12:26 p.m. – The McMahon campaign has pulled the Rennie blog post off their site, in an apparent attempt to backtrack from the claim that they gave the story to the Times. A McMahon spokesman has not yet responded to a request for comment on why they did so.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee went after McMahon hard, saying she had pulled the content off her site “likely because this is an extension of her history of making up stories.”

“As a corporate executive for WWF , Linda McMahon created fictional storylines for entertainment, often blurring the lines between theater and real violence in the ring,” said DSCC spokesman Eric Schultz.

Schultz added this parting shot: “Just like she peddled today’s story, she has spent years peddling violence to kids.”

1. She may have done everyone a favor. I just saw video of Blumenthal
stating in a public speech that he did serve in Vietnam, and this evidently was one time of several he made similar statements. He did not - he was in the USMC reserve for a few months in the Vietnam era in the US.
I also just heard-on Hardball-that Blumenthall stated publicly that he was the captain of the swim team in college. He was never on the team at all.
This guy has some serious problem that should have been discovered long before this - maybe it was and was overlooked or cleaned up, but this is not the kind of Democratic politician we need - we have enough chronic liars in Washington right now.

3. I'm angry with M$Greedia because they let Bush get away with
his lies re military service, but Blumenthal appears to be a serial liar - he also claimed to be on the Harvard swimming team.
Fuck him and all the other lying politicians - enough of this shite from these political elites.

2. Blumenthal has been one of the nations
strongest consumer advocates.
McMahon? Smut peddler, drug dealer. Nothing to be proud about.

4. Isn't Blumenthal part of some
Wall St.cases? It could be that he's being "Spitzered".
