Pit-bull finger chomp results in $300K settlement

--------------

This story begins a week before Christmas 2008, when Monty mauled his owner. Short was taken to the hospital with facial injuries. Short's girlfriend then asked Rodriguez to take Monty for a walk, without telling him that Short had just had his face torn up, Rodriguez's attorneys said.

The walk was uneventful, but afterward the dog suddenly turned on Rodriguez and chomped on his left ring finger, tearing off the top of his digit, including his wedding ring.

Rodriguez was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, where he was shocked to learn from surgeons that Short was at the same hospital undergoing surgery to his face, according to Dunnion.

"He was just being a nice guy, helping somebody out," Dunnion said. "Imagine him going to the hospital and finding out that the guy he's walking the dog for is in there because the dog bit him in the face."

2. Something is wrong with that picture
I can't quite put my finger on it, but that is just bizarre.

Course I imagine that dog must already be gone by now.

Kind of preferred the smaller fluffy ones like this:

But ended up with one anyway due to finding her dumped and sitting along side the road about a year and a half ago. Missy is a big girl and strong as a bull. Hope she never goes Cujo. Missy is the one with the Cubs hat on:
