"Incumbents are going to take a beating this cycle." "Anti-incumbent sentiment will hurt Democrats" |
|
I'm not buying that. The incumbents in trouble are the incumbents who ignore their bases. That crosses party lines. Funny thing is, the repubican base is getting increasingly unreasonable and narrow. They're blowing out their credible incumbents/candidates in favor of truly fringe wackadoodles. Come time for the Fall generals and these fringe dwellers they're putting in now become proportionately less attractive.
How much cheery support will Ayn Rand Paul get when the Kentucky farmers find out he wants to kill their subsidies?
Over on the left side, the ones in trouble are, again, those who ignore their bases. Blanche, I'm talking to you. I hope you got scared shitless today. You're a fucking DEMOCRAT, Act like one, you hear?
And those two in Maine. They're coming for you two. The nutters have landed in Maine ..... and you two are in their sights.
No ..... the only people who will get tagged by this "anti-incumbency" are the incumbents who act like they're on the other side of the aisle.
As
It
Should
Be.
Dammit.

2. It's going to hurt republicans just as much. Maybe more |
|
I think Rand Paul being elected in KY is a sing for republican congress critters too. Anti incumbent sentiment runs deep through both parties. People are fed up with the direction were going and if those already in power aren't going to move left, they're going to get moved- right out of office.
I think if Obama continues not to listen to the base; he's not going to make it in 2012. Then, we're really screwed.

3. Don't let on with the Big Secret |
|
The Tea Baggers are a minority of the minority party. They don't represent anybody or anything, except their own pitiful 11% or so of the electorate. They're the squalling babies who want something for nothing. They don't want to pay for anything, yet they want every service the government offers and then some. That might appeal to some other people who don't know any better, but in the long run it's not a winning strategy.
By the time the media chuckleheads catch wise, and the Tea Baggers are exposed for the minor party knuckleheads they are, the Villagers will pretend like they knew it all along. Then they'll fall for whatever stunt some Republican bagman with more money than brains dreams up next.
