Dems should call him "Ayn Rand Paul." |
|
Many so called "Christians" are unaware of the influence of atheist Ayn Rand on conservative politics. The Democrats need to educate these people who just who Ayn Rand was, and let them know about her views of Christianity. Rand taught "Selfishness is a virtue." "Charity is not a virtue." She said that for the "life of her, I do not see why the love of money is the root of all evil." Rand also said "Judge not lest ye be judged," is an escape from "moral responsibility." She also said "The concept of God is degrading to a man."
Almost every leading rightie from Limbaugh, to Ron Paul, to Reagan, to Gingrich, claim Rand as their inspiration. I have never understood why Democrats have not exploited this more?
There can not be two more opposite ideals than those of Ayn Rand and Jesus Christ.

There's enough in Rand Paul's STATED POLICIES to focus on without trying to create a link to what they MIGHT be based on the name he was given.

3. Not to defend him, but I think his first name is Randall. |
|
He wasn't named after Ayn Rand.
I can't believe even Ron Paul would be ignorant of her atheist philosophy.

If he ever runs for president, maybe he'll pick Nader LaRouche as his running mate.

are all over this un-recommending it. They fear the word will get out that Ron named his son after that famous champion of greed.

12. Except both Palin and Dobson are behind him, so that won't stick much |
|
And I have a problem with trying to paint someone as bad for (maybe) being an atheist.

13. Ayn Rand vs. religion |
|
Yes, Ayn Rand's atheism is a good thing. As is her opposition to religion (and to the religious right).
The ethics of self-sacrifice, which she rightly rejected, is the remnant of Christian nonsense. She argued we should reject not only religious metaphysics but religious ethics. In its place she formulated an ethics based on man's life as the standard of value.
