Ron Paul Democrats: They remind me of ron reagan democrats.
This morning on cspan, more than a few callers identified themselves as Ron Paul Democrats, Ron Paul appeals to them because he's not like the other republican candidates.

For decades the talking heads referred to the Democrats who were so charmed by ronny reagan that they voted republican, and their votes were so numerous that they helped get him elected, and then we had to put up with his doddering ass for 8 years.

I hope the Ron Paul Democrats aren't walking into the same trap.

How bad is it when Democrats are attracted to a republican candidate? I think it's REALLY BAD.

But, this is the brave new political world we live in.

Could YOU, a Democrat, pull the lever for Paul, a republican?

I don't know if I could live with myself having voted R, but then there have been MANY disappointing Democrats too, many of whom I regretted voting for.

1. Well if you are a democrat of a more libertarian bent then...

yes Ron Paul would probably be your choice.

I'm definately not a big fan of the current primary no-choice which seems to be between Hillary and Obama.

I'd definately vote for Bill Richardson, but I dont think he will win the primaries when the media is all focused on the Hillary/Obama race.

2. Morphing Paul into Reagan would be a smart thing for the Thugs
to do. Voting for him would be a stupid thing for Democrats to do.

3. Why were there no 'Clinton republicans'?
And why were there no bush Democrats?

4. Since Junior was never elected, who knows how many
Bush Republics there have ever been.

Reagan made a virtue out of his self serving flip, so that's probably why "Reagan Democrats" is a useful wedge for the Thuggery.
