Wash. Journal.. Wouldn't you KNOW
Edited on Mon May-07-07 07:17 AM by SoCalDem
The newspaper lady on earlier was gushing with praise for Mittens and for equal time....

The second segment is for John Edwards

wait for it...

wait for it

The news guy invited is the guy who trashed him about the house and the haircut..

Now that's what I call fair & balanced.. they ARE the "new" Fox for semi-literate freepers :grr:

1. I could not stand to watch that woman, nor Larry Elders once I
heard where his allegiance lies (didn't know anything about him).
Sure would be nice to have someone on at this hour who's tolerable.
Thanks for the heads-up on the next WJ guest; not worth tuning in for.

3. I tried to call when that stupid woman, Holly Bailey, from Newsweek
was on pontificating about Mitt aka Ron Popeil. I wanted to ask her why she had that beatific smile on her face.

Of course, I couldn't get through. I think she has a major crush on Der Mittenfuhrer.

BTW, whoever came up with the analogy of Mitt to Ron Popeil: :applause:. It is so appropriate.

8. Will any American ever forget "set it and forget it"...
Remember the "Bass-o-matic" skit on SNL with Dan Ackroyd in 1978? One of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

6. The Plug Has Been Pulled On This Show
Those who have seen me around here know I've been a regular watcher of this show, but now I'm done...the combination of diversion and astroturfing on this show lately has gotten real bad.

Rarely do we see a Liberal or Progressive journalist...but we sure get our fill of Washington Slimes operatives who spread their venom unquestioned and given a legitamcy they don't deserve. Many times the topic will be something of interest to the Repugnicans while you know they wouldn't go anywhere near a discussion on impeachment or most of the many scandals surrounding this regime. If there is a program about the USA scandal or some other booooosh regime fuck-up, be assured a Repugnican minder (either a party hack or stenographer) will be on-hand to spin and distort.

And, of course, the calls are always balance...one Repugnican, one independent, on repugnican, one Democrat (oops call cut off), one repugnican, one independent, one repugnican...rinse & repeat.

10. I Love The Unsolicited Advice
Be it the talking heads or the callers who start with "If I were a Democrat...."

And, they all seem to know Mrs. Clinton personally...as all she is know is by "Hillary" in the pejorative. Meanwhile these are the same morans who claim all Democrats do is "hate boooosh".

12. Ain't that the truth.
Both of the so-called journalists this morning were absolutely awful. I would love to know what the trick is to getting a call through to C-Span on the "Democrats" line. I swear the staffers at C-Span do something so that real Democratic callers can't get through. It's so frustrating.

14. They Never Responded to the report by F.A.I.R
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2764

I've heard of stories of the producers moving GOOP operatives and how the party would coordinate people to be on the phones, flooding the lines to either make their guest look good or to un-nerve an opponent.

This show has long been a part of the GOOP astroturf machine...just like the old game of telephone. A rumor starts on Drudge or some wingnut site during the evening...the next morning, Washington Journal picks it up...from there it goes to the hate radio shows (who will cite WJ, thus it MUST be a story)...and by the evening, it's been spun into Woflie's Situation Room and Tweety's Hairball.

For years, I've suggested a simple thing C-SPAN could do...just color code the state the person is calling from...so we know which party line is on the air. I've never gotten a reply to my email to Brian Lamb about this.

Cheers...

15. I actually managed to get through a couple of times--
both times were shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday mornings. ;-)

Lately I haven't tried very often--their RW bias now blatant and shameless in the general wingnut flopsweat--but the two times I did get through it was on the Repub line. I'd call on the Dem line and sometimes actually get through, at least the phone would ring and ring and ring, but no one ever answered.

So I'd switch lines, and hang up when they picked up, which was usually pretty quickly. Probably should have stayed on the line, lied to the screener, and then blasted them for their obvious bias, but I was too pissed off and didn't trust myself not to rant and use naughty words. Lots and lots of naughty words...

Hey, at least these days I can just turn over and go back to sleep at 5:00 a.m.

18. The "reporter" was that RW Hack Rob Christensen who hates the Edwards
and wouldn't write a decent thing about them. I won't even repeat what he said about the Edwards marriage. He's the political writer for the Raleigh, NC "News & Observer" and he's always been a Repug hack who feigns moral outrage at Democrats but rarely says an unkind word about Liddy Dole or the Repug Machine in the "backrooms."

He was brought on C-Span because he personally hates the Edwards. C-Span also had Jim Warren of "Chicago Trib" months ago to trash Obama and try to connect him by smear to "organized crime."

"Washington Journal" has become to C-Span what the Regent Law Graduates are to the Justice Department.
