Last night labor and the Left won, the DLC and RNC lost, and we're better off for it.
Labor and the Progressives handed Blanche (what a fucked up name) Lincoln a shit sandwich, Critz made the RNC strategy look like they were yet again playing three card monte and lost to themselves, Arlin 'which way is the wind blowing' Specter is finally getting his wrinkled ass out of Washington, Ron Paul will lose in November by over 100,000 votes, and Rahm Emanuel is wondering where his ass is and who has it to hand it back to him. Maybe they'll learn something from this, but I really don't think so.

God I love unhappy unscripted endings.

So, they changed their name, they are still infiltrators in our party. New Democrats, Third Way Democrats, DLC, different name, same strategy - destroy the Democratic Party from the inside.

Do your research.

33. Not unlike a lot of GOP pols talkin 'family values' to pander to fundy Christians
while the pols were boinking various non-spousal units

They have benefited from the passion and hard work on the left for elections then handed us mops and put us on cleaning up after the victory bash while they went off with the corporitist GOP and all those lobbyists to agree on how the people were to be screwed.

The Corporitist (since they are now ducking 'DLC') DEMs have used then abused the passionate, reliable workers of the liberal wing of the party once too often, methinks.

Corporate DEMs got a message back last night:'Fuck you. Strong message to follow."

76. zero credit
Actually in 2006 and 2008 the Rahm backed DLC friendly candidates were usually the ones that fared poorly. Candidates that ran on progressive values did well. Dean's fifty state strategy was a success.

Those few DLC democrats that did manage to win over the last decade or so are also those selfsame democrats that stabbed us repeatedly in the back on healthcare reform and many other Democratic issues.

51. ....
Will Marshall is one of the founders of the New Democrat movement, which aims to steer the US Democratic Party toward a more centrist orientation. Since its founding in 1989, he has been president of the Progressive Policy Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Democratic Leadership Council.

He recently served on the board of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq, an organization chaired by Joe Lieberman and John McCain designed to build bipartisan support for the invasion of Iraq. Marshall also signed, at the outset of the war, a letter issued by the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) expressing support for the invasion. Marshall signed a similar letter sent to President Bush put out by the Social Democrats USA on Feb. 25, 2003, just before the invasion. The SDUSA letter urged Bush to commit to "maintaining substantial U.S. military forces in Iraq for as long as may be required to ensure a stable, representative regime is in place and functioning."

He writes frequently on political and public policy matters, especially the "Politics of Ideas" column in Blueprint, the DLC's magazine. Notably, he is one of the co-authors of Progressive Internationalism: A Democratic National Security Strategy.

12. Really?
http://www.dlc.org/

In keeping with our party's grand tradition, we reaffirm Jefferson's belief in individual liberty and capacity for self-government. We endorse Jackson's credo of equal opportunity for all, special privileges for none. We embrace Roosevelt's thirst for innovation and Kennedy's summons to civic duty. And we intend to carry on Clinton's insistence upon new means to achieve progressive ideals.

We believe that the promise of America is equal opportunity for all and special privilege for none. We believe that economic growth generated in the private sector is the prerequisite for opportunity, and that government's role is to promote growth and to equip Americans with the tools they need to prosper in the New Economy.

We believe that government programs should be grounded in the values most Americans share: work, family, personal responsibility, individual liberty, faith, tolerance, and inclusion.

We believe in community; that we can achieve our individual destinies only if we share a commitment to our national destiny. We believe in an ethic of mutual responsibility in which government has an obligation to create opportunity for citizens, but citizens have an obligation to give something back to the commonwealth.

We believe America has a responsibility to lead the world toward greater political and economic freedom.

”I am a New Democrat!”---Barack Obama

The DLC is very real, and is in firm control of the Democratic Party Leadership through their "Corporate" Funding Connections. Their fingerprints are ALL over the recent Health Care Reform failure.
Next on their list: the destruction of Social Security.

"By their works, you will know them."

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans."---Paul Wellstone

The GOP has sunk so low that no one can pretend otherwise. Being unhappy with Obama so far doesn't make people stupid about the disaster that's become of the Republican party. Even the teabaggers get that part. I wonder how the pundits feel about the teabaggers being smarter than they are.

That's like Sarah Palin being on the genius side of the bell curve compared to them.

had the more conservative candidate won. Sestak was polling better against Toomey than Specter. Linoln is not polling better against the Republican than Halter. If Halter wins the run off and loses the general, we can assume Lincoln would not have kept the seat, either. If Sestak loses the general, we can assume Specter would have lost it worse.
