So who will the Independents in KY vote for?
From what I understand, the Indys were not able to vote in the R and D primaries last night, thus the total votes for Ds were higher than for Rs.

How many Is are in KY anyway, and what affect will they have in November?

1. Not so many....
Because of KY's restrictive primary law, a lot of voters register with a party just to vote in that primary. At one time, the majority of 'independent' voters registered as Democrats as this was a very strong Democratic state, but things have changed a bit now. With the state trending Republican in national elections that has attracted more Repub registrations. Most of the action on local and statewide races used to be in the Democratic primaries, hence everyone registering as a D.

Times have changed but I think the key for Conway is to register as many new voters as possible and hit the indies. The KY Democratic Party has pretty strong leadership right now, so it might be possible to win this. But, how the media slants this, and how many of the Tea Baggers, included Pallin come here...it's a crap shoot in some ways. Help is needed, Conway could use money from all over....hopefully, people around the country will support him.

2. Tea bagger help
The more obnoxious tea bagging help Paul gets the more turned off voters in Louisville and Lexington will most likely become. I would love for pictures of Rand Paul's rally in Frankfort, surrounded by militia, to get wide-spread attention in those two cities! And the people in the east and west of the state need to know that Rand Paul would just love to end all the federal programs many of them rely on to get by.

Conway needs to go after every insane thing Paul has said and done, and he is an absolute insanity factory!

3. I agree...
Conway's campaign management is quite good, and I feel like they will go after Paul. Paul truly qualifies a nut case! To see Mitch and the rest of those repukes supporting Paul today tells me that the Republicans are scared of the Tea Baggers. Which is just frightening.
