It would be a lot easier for a liberal agenda if more liberal Dems were elected to Congress |
|
The President is a proven political animal, his idea of change was to restore some sense of normality that was destroyed by the Bushies, not create the kind of Socialist conspiracy wonderland that the wingers and tea baggers are screaming about.
The success of the recovery agenda has always been on the back of Congress.
The sooner we get the Blue Dogs, wimpy corporatist Dems and DLCers out finding new lines of work, the sooner the real Liberals can get this country back on its feet.

1. Um, Obama LIKES those guys |
|
He sides with them far more than anyone else. Look what's IN the HCR and what got taken OUT and you'll find that he leans very hard their way, despite that they are something of a minority in the congress. No one forced him to hire Rahm, he chose to. He chose to go "all out" for Specter. He chose to keep on Gates, not to mention the rest of the command staff in the wars. He pushed for the classification of the torture photos, he voted for telecom immunity, and he is the primary obstacle to the prosecution of the toturers.
It might make it A LITTLE easier for a more liberal agenda, but ultimately, the WH has ALOT to say about it and can leverage very few conservadems (along with the GOP) to block it.

and you're first and only step is to convince us moderates to vote for one of the "real liberals" you mention. Would love to hear those ideas.

there's very little chance that more liberal Dems could even have won in primaries, let alone general elections.
