Maj. Gen. Lynch:"...probably see an increase in American casualties...only way we can win the fight"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/06/AR2007050600266.html?hpid=topnews

A senior U.S. commander said Sunday that the military was bracing for a rise in the casualty rate in the coming months, as an ongoing security offensive attempts to tame the devastating violence and stabilize Baghdad.

"All of us believe that in the next 90 days, you'll probably see an increase in American casualties because we are taking the fight to the enemy," Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of the Army's Task Force Marne, told reporters Sunday. "This is the only way we can win the fight."

1. Tough to win when your "commander" is a National Guard deserter

and his VP backup has a record-breaking five (5) Military Deferments.

I mean, really...even for republicons that is Way Lame...Way Pathetic.

America's troops -- our sons and daughters in uniform -- deserve much, much better leadership than the chickenhawk republicons provide.

3. " .... because we are taking the fight to the enemy, ... "
Over 98% of the enemy we are fighting in Iraq are Iraqi nationals not foreign terrorists.

Taking the fight to people who see us as invading enemies and we just might see a "spike"
in casualties.

The 82nd Airborne is now using some of it's troops as human bait to draw out "the bad guys."

6. God, how transparent. Did Cheney write that or what?
It has his unique sort of 180-degrees wrong style to it. They're trying to point at the chaos and call *that* proof of progress.

9. "Who will be the last to die for a mistake?"
John Kerry said that a generation ago, and now, it is almost beyond belief that we are faced with the same question. Who will be the last to die for a stubborn refusal to face reality? Who will be the last to be killed or maimed in a civil war that is none of our business? How many more parents, spouses, children will have to mourn?
