3. Yep...The Drinkie Drinkie Party Circuit Has A Disturbance In The Force... |
|
Watching Mrs. Greenspan almost in tears last night made me smile...sorry she's losing another crusty old dance partner. Tweety's a creature of the beltway...and as we've seen over and over, they live by "conventional wisdom" and inside a bubble. When that bubble is burst, they get all bunched up. Tweety loves to think he's got his pulse on the "common guy" and when that common guy makes him look like a fool, he really gets ruffled.

8. Exactly why they were all sure Hillary would win. |
|
Hillary's biggest base of support was in the NYC and DC press corps.

5. DC insiders (like Tweety) arent happy that all their Dem choices lost |
|
Smart people would stop and ask themselves if they werent misreading the mood of the electorate and try harder to get on the voters good side, but those insiders live in a lavish bubble and will insist they know better.
Until its too late, that is.

7. Maybe he's remembering the stupid things he said last night. |
|
...Early in the evening. For example.. He told us that the incredibly powerful "Democratic/Rendell" machine was an unstoppable force and it would certainly put Specter over. He also told us that the machine was in every Philadelphia ward, every division, with poll workers and all kinds of pressure. That was clearly not the case in MY Philadelphia ward and division. Not even ONE Specter sign on the sidewalk leading to the polling place, let alone a poll worker! And y'all know by now that Sestak only lost three counties in all of Pennsylvania.

12. Tweety wanted to run for that seat |
|
it's no secret he wanted to run for the Senate from PA. Rumor is he was talked out of it when Arlen switched. I guess Tweets figures he could've been where Sestak is tonight. BWAAAHAAAHA Tweets.

15. MSNBC is starting to come down on Obama |
|
I noticed it all day today (well, what I watched of it).
Andra Mitchel has been barely able to contain her disdain of Obama and the administration yesterday and today. Tweety's been mad at everyone in general and picking on Obama in partiicular. Chuck Todd told some story he really didn't need to say. Ed's going all over the place about how "Obama doesn't get it." I missed Dylan today so I don't know about him. I didn't hear anyting negative from Keith or Rachel last night, but they were pretty much just focused on the elections.
Makes me wonder if something has come down from GE/NBC/whoever that it's time to get on Obama's case in a big way.

16. Tweety's big thing now is that getting Specter to switch to a Dem and vote with the Dems for the |
|
past year "corrupted" Obama.
Apparently, Matthews thought that when Obama became President that the rules of the Senate would change and legislating wouldn't require the normal sausage-making/compromises/deal-cutting. Because this utopian Senate did not appear, he blames Obama.
He's sounding rather nuts lately. He definitely is encouraging me to watch less MSNBC.
As usual, Obama needs to yell more and (this one's new) become Harry Truman. Matthews frequently wants Obama to "be" somebody else. President Obama doesn't morph into some other personality and Tweety throws a fit.
We've been through this a couple of times already now.
