Read this, and laugh...(Freepers and Fred Thompson)
Edited on Mon May-07-07 09:08 AM by wienerdoggie
Over at Freepville, a sign that the far right wing of the GOP is indeed truly looking for a savior, and I don't mean that figuratively:

--snip--
What I love about Fred is the down home analygies he makes to get his point across.

Jesus used down home parables that the common person could relate to. It’s a way of explaining things that the average person can understand.

Fred will be himself and totally ignore the media sniping.
--snip--

It Gets Better, y'all:

--snip--
i’ve studied on the subject, and my conclusion is now clear

fred is formidable

he is a man of strength, character, consistency, and with his own internal locus of control

this is no northeastern republican in name only

unlike president bush unfortunately, who is also good person, thompson has a thoroughly-integrated theme and vision of america that deeply reinforces our identity as a nation

the only bi-partisanship fred will care to achieve is through his very nature - he is hard not to like as a person despite differing views

fred is articulate, confident but not cocky, intelligent but guided by experienced common sense

no other candidate on either side has such an appreciation of the fundamental issues that will affect america in the years to come

like jesus in the garden of gethsemane, thompson is taking the time now to savor the last moments of a private quiet life of comfort - sacrifice awaits

a towering man (6’6”) that only seems amplified by soaring ideals

remember this moment - world history in the making
--snip--

OMG! He's JAY-ZUS, coming to rapture them! They've moved beyond comparing him to Reagan--St. Ronnie was only human, after all--totally inadequate to describe the miraculous being that is FRED.

1. Until I saw
the word "thompson" I thought it was about Fred Phelps.

But then again, maybe the word "thompson" is a red herring.

Actually, I prefer pontificating from atop an elephant, but they're so expensive to rent and the mountains of elephant poop can be a real deal-breaker for the audience. So the chair's the reliable choice.

35. Read Bob Novak's article that I posted in Editorials--he's going
to be a big fat letdown. They WAY overhyped him, and this post is proof--the GOP didn't even consider him a year ago--they dug him up out of the backyard. All he's done is give some scripted radio commentary and a few carefully controlled appearances. He's not going to make it on the campaign trail--even the freepers admit he looks old, sick, and tired. The cancer may not be a primary issue for the GOPers, but it WILL be in the general. Now, take your concerns over to the OTHER Fred threads, and let us have our fun.

of how little they are grounded in reality. They didn't know 6 months ago that they had a reincarnated Reagan--no, JESUS--in their midst, he was just an unremarkable former Senator who basically plays a trumped-up version of himself on Teevee. They wanted George Allen, but that racist pig shot himself in the hoof. And they've been casting about in the darkness ever since.

I know the Republicans have Schwarzeneggar, Reagan, Eastwood, and Thompson. Both Schwarzeneggar and Thompson are (or at least were) discussed as possible GOP contenders for the White House. Do the Democrats have any similar affinity for actor politicians...?

I'd expect the Dems to at least MATCH the Republicans in this respect, considering the way the right-wing loves to toss around the word "Hollywood" as a pejorative.
