Rand Paul on Rachel
Wow... what tap dancing. He won't say if he believes a business has the right to discriminate against people.

27. hey DU lawyers, wasn't he wrong about that -- aren't there more?
Title VII (employment) covers certain (e.g., > 15 employees) private bus. employment decisions. Doesn't Title IX cover private orgs. too - athletic opportunities in universities? And what about public accommodations, such as keeping your store open to all, not discriminating in apartment rentals, etc.?

32. I'd guess that Rand wasn't captain of the high school debate team.
Was he really equating the right of a business owner to ban people from bringing guns into their business with the right to ban people because of the color of their skin? Is he that STUPID?

Hey Rand, you can CHOOSE to leave your gun at home. People don't have a choice about their skin color.

30. When libertarians have nothing left in an argument,
they call you "intellectually dishonest".

I think this means "If you don't agree with me then you must be a liar because I am right".

22. Nearly 500,000 Registered Dems voted yesterday
Randy Paulski will be slaughtered in November. Kentucky ain't stupid, it's Blue.

The Kentucky Democratic Primary Isn't Over, Yet
The race to run against Rand Paul isn't over, quite yet.

As reported by Politico, Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo will request a "recanvass" of absentee ballots and voting machines in Kentucky's Democratic Senate primary.

Jack Conway, the state attorney general, leads Mongiardo by 3,592 votes according to Kentucky's unofficial results, with all counties reporting.

25% of Kentucky polling places use electronic voting machines that directly record votes. A variety of machines are used, most commonly eSlate, followed by iVotronic and AccuTouch.

3,592 votes isn't a huge margin, so what happens if the recanvass nudges Mongiardo just a touch closer? According to Kentucky law, candidates have 30 10 days to petition a court for a full recount. There are no automatic recounts based on margin, under Kentucky law, according to the KY secretary of state's office.

29. That might be true
but any infighting among Democratic candidates will just simply give ground to Rand Paul, who is freed of such election challenges and the mental effort they require.

I'm not so sure his libertarian views won't sell in most of Kentucky. Never been there (except for the Cincinnati airport which is across the river), but I suspect that he will appeal to the majority of voters there, no matter what party they're registered in.
