I watched "Wounded Platoon" last night on frontline... |
|
Man! where was that show 6 or 8 years ago? I remember seeing the Vietnam war every night on TV, and since the Bush/Cheney war started, haven't seen anything like this! The worst part is, they put it on at 2am when nobody but night owls see it! It should be played in primetime, every day! After watching it, It was apparent that the US has lost that "war" plain and simple. With the casualties, killed, wounded, and the suffering and death of returning troop, I am convinced that the human cost here and to civilians there sums up absolute failure. I also can't comprehend what for? There is nothing to warrant such evil to humans. I think it's time we dropped everything and fired up the old anti war movement. Forget the gulf, health care, the economy, and start becoming the conscience of the warmongers... they certainly don't have one! Those kids need SOMEONE on their side! For God sake... they are turned loose to wander the nation after going through hell like that, and then cast aside after being used up! I felt so much anger and rage at the injustice of it, yet so much compassion for those boys it made me want to go find them and do SOMETHING! It's heartbreaking and sickening...This is not about "Nation" and "Country" and "Pride" anymore... it's pure evil!

Here's a link: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/view/?utm_campaign=interiornav&utm_medium=topnav&utm_source=topnavI checked my local schedule. It's on at 2AM, then at 5AM another day. I can only imagine why it has been scheduled only when few people will watch.

4. Well I was gonna speculate about that. |

But then somebody who forgot to take their meds might have come out of the woodwork to say how silly it is to suppose such a thing and I really don't feel like getting into a flame war right now.

5. Unemployment for returning and seperating vets is 20% plus |
|
It's pretty grim, especially considering that a security guard with license to carry makes about nine bucks an hour. Another dissapointment is how gamed the federal hiring process has become. List ten "must have" prerequisites, and then hire somebody who meets none of them. I'm generalizing, but that is my experience thus far. What saddens me, are the jobs that pay decent, that I stand a chance of getting, run contrary to my morals. This contracting obsession within the military has really gotten out of control. It is only because my wife is a nurse that we're not sucking hind tit right now, and I really empathize with the younger guys whom have to decide between a decent wage and job security or flatlining in the private sector.
