Most candidates start a scrapbook when running for office-any office.
The scrapbook is intended to not only be a remembrance of the many weeks/months of the campaign, but all articles and press clippings and pictures are saved. When I helped a candidate many years ago, we made an arrangement with our local paper and paid them to save all articles and said clippings from other outlets we may have missed. It served us well. Distortions, lies, incorrect or lacks of communication were easily and quickly answered.

If Mr. Blumenthal had employed such an activity he could have easily made the correction(s) immediately. Whether it was a "once" mistake or not it should have been addressed immediately. I don't doubt for a moment this is a good guy, but closer scrutiny to what is being published about you is key. I'm sure he has aides, designate one to handle these "fires" as they pop up and maintain your credibility.

1. Thank you.
As someone from CT, I fully support Blumenthal.
What the national media, and the beltway pundits do no want to understand is that Blumenthal has been one of the strongest advocates for working class people for the past 20 years.
This also includes veterans.
He has attended the funeral of every veteran who has died in the current wars.

2. If the vets in CT are standing with him through this, as they seem to be . . .
that speaks volumes. They're the ones who know him best, and I'm inclined to trust their judgment.

Most of us who aren't CT residents are just engaging in armchair quarterbacking.

Best of luck to you in CT, and to Blumenthal. I hope he weathers this to put a full Nelson on McMahon and pin her good!
