The Gulf Oil Gusher has been active for one month today.

BP says 5k barrels a day, scientists say as much as 10x that, or 50k barrels a day.

5,000 barrels a day is 210,000 gallons, 50,000 is 2,100,000.

Hence a median average would be 25,000 barrels, or 1,050,000 gallons per day.

That means that approximately 31,500,000 gallons of oil have been dumped into an ecosystem with poor circulation. :(
