Michele Bachmann is $3,814 in arrears on her 2009 property taxes
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann should spend more time in Minnesota. She might remember to pay her property taxes.

According to Washington County Property Tax records, as of May 20, Michele and Marcus Bachmann were $3,814 in arrears on their 2009 property taxes for their million-dollar West Lakeland Township mansion. That includes an apparent penalty of $74.80 accrued already. The taxes were due May 15. Their total property tax bill for 2010 is $7,480.

As always, DumpBachmann has the scoop:

1. She's a Whole FIVE Days Late
On paying her tax bill? The HORROR! She's no Timothy Geithner. Hate her politics, but get real. This is not news. It's obsessing.

11. I Agree
But I offer two caveats.

1. She is a whole five days late. We look stupid when we make mountains out of mole hills.

2. Are we being consistent? When Geithner was nominated and all of the shit hit the fan on how he blew off paying taxes (something you or I would be in jail for), I wanted Obama to drop him like a hot potato. What's worse, is many of my fellow progressives actually defended the piece of crap. And why? Because he was our guy and because the repugs grilled the choice. That is complete bullshit in my book. If ever there were a classic case of "whose ox is being gored", it is anyone who defended Geithner for not paying his taxes at all while jumping on someone who is less than one week past due on theirs. I'm not saying that you did, but many of my friends fall into that camp.

4. Then she can come live with you
I really do not want her in my state any longer. Foreclosure is called for.

:) :) :)

You may fail to realize that she gives Minnesota a bad name and she encourages others to act like her. So any thing that will make her look bad is fair game. She has no problem dishing dirt and lies at others. She has been caught in numerous lies and denies them. The sooner we can get rid of her is for the best.

10. She is not supposed to be late in doing her civic duty.
She is running as someone better than that... A Leader so to speak.. It does not speak well of her abilities at all.

19. Are You Serious?
That is one of the most weasely delineations I have ever read. We elected the man who chose Geithner.

15. Why are you making this out to be nothing? If she fails to do her
own personal job/responsablilites, then how can anyone trust her to do her job in government!? She sounds like a real loser and I hope she keeps forgeting so we can make this a big campaign issue! This is news and you sound like you are obsessing over it not.

20. Who Said it Was "Nothing"?
It is something. But at this point, it's something that is pretty damned trivial. Keep your eye on the ball, folks.

Hmm, does that make her on of them that tax evadin' welfare cheats?

What kinda car does she drive? Does she buy anything above the very basics needed to survive?

Shouldn't we hold her to the same standards the right holds any other recipients of any sort of aid from any sort of federal program?

7. RIGHT!
Repubs can do everything from double parking to invading other countries and that's okay. I think that's how it works.

14. You Are Dead-On Correct
But you are 100% wrong if you think that it only applies to the repugs.

21. Would be awesome if someone in the media sandbagged her with this:
Invite her on to "talk about" one of her pet issues, but instead just hit her with:

"A US Congressperson currently receives a salary of $174,000 per year. Could you explain why you're delinquent on paying the property taxes on your home?
