Nice, NY Times is officially an incompetent, spoon-fed rag.

1. Pretty appalling that I have to kick this...
...appalling that no one else is outraged.

2. K&R
McMahon's campaign dishing dirt to the NYT's Hernandez so he could write a one-sided story (and withhold information favorable to their target, Blumenthal) ought to reflect badly on McMahon. Not to mention the unethical and unprofessional conduct of Hernandez (who outright lied when he said that his information did NOT come from McMahon's campaign).

They fault Blumenthal for exaggerating on a few occasions (versus the dozens or hundreds of occasions when he stated clearly that he did NOT serve in-country). They seem to be irony-challenged, considering that THEY set out to INTENTIONALLY exaggerate and distort the story and mislead the public for their own selfish purposes.

We'll see how this plays out. But McMahon and Hernandez really deserve to have their plot backfire on them in a BIG way. McMahon's admission here of her role in spoon-feeding the "dirt" to Hernandez ought to prompt further investigation.

3. Here's hoping it will...the Courant is at least covering that angle today...
...amazing that the Times let this story run...so flawed in so many ways. Not to defend McCain, but they did do a lousy job on that story about him and the lobbyist...they couldn't prove for sure he did, so they implied like hell and lost all credibility about the story because of that. If they really wanted to, they could have gotten the goods.
