she's a person with issues. I haven't seen anything in her I would qualify as evil or malicious - she's just another self-centered fucked up person in the spotlight as opposed to plenty of self-centered fucked up people not in the spotlight.

She could easily have gotten an extension for her probation visit before she left - that was another dumb thing, and unless she had a plane ticket that shows planned flight dates that would have accommodated her, I have my doubts about the passport story too.

However, arresting and jailng her for being stupid IS evil and malicious, and so . . . . villager.

5. Ignorance of the law is no excuse

And the rule of law has to be applied fairly, therefore she should face the same consequences as any other American citizen.

If that results in her arrest and incarceration, even for a short period of time, then I see nothing wrong with it.

As you said, she could have requested an extension, but it wasn't done.
