He's in the House, he'll be running for re-election against Burns.

15. No, Critz was elected to fill out the remainder of Murtha's term, which ends in December.
He has to run for reelection for a new term starting in January. Just like every other congress critter.

8. Only if you ignore Arkansas, Oregon and the PA Senate race.
And I'd rather have the bluest dog Dem vs the most moderate Republican.

13. Oh me too - but the claims were specifically progressive victory over moderates/DLCers
I don't think either Sestak or Halter are anything beyond moderates, and Critz is about as RW as you can get and still be a Dem. Hell I've been accused of that here many times - and actually worse - but I'm both pro-choice and for HCR (and single payer too if we could get it) so he's way further right than I am.

Gotta be honest Oregon blew by me so there may be something there I missed.

19. Here ya go
TITLE: labor and the Left won, the DLC and RNC lost, and we're better off for it.

TEXT (clearly intended as a list supporting the cliam of the title) :Labor and the Progressives handed Blanche (what a fucked up name) Lincoln a shit sandwich, Critz made the RNC strategy look like they were yet again playing three card monte and lost to themselves, Arlin 'which way is the wind blowing' Specter is finally getting his wrinkled ass out of Washington, Ron Paul will lose in November by over 100,000 votes, and Rahm Emanuel is wondering where his ass is and who has it to hand it back to him. Maybe they'll learn something from this, but I really don't think so.

20. That doesn't suggest Critz is a progressive - it's the part that's refers...
...to the title claim that the RNC lost.

Nice try. :)

The part about Critz refers to the RNC loss mentioned in the title - the part about Lincoln refers to the left and labor. Get it?

6. Yep - that's how blue dogs work.
You get a Dem to add to your seat count, but you won't find him co-authoring any 'Department of Peace' legislation with Dennis Kucinich.

I've said it many times: The choice is usually not the blue dog or a 'real' Democrat; it's the blue dog or a Republican. Which is what the case is in PA-12 and most of the rural areas of the country.

17. Yes it will be deja vu in November
Still, his Republican opponent, Tim Burns, ran strong and this was a day of two races, both a special election and a primary nomination. While Mr. Critz will fill the rest of Mr. Murtha's term, he must come back in the fall and again run against Mr. Burns, because both men won their party's nomination. That will provide a much clearer picture of how the voters feel about incumbents.

As for HCR, that vote has already been taken.
