Is Rand Paul another Ned Lamont?

"In Connecticut’s Aug. 8, 2006, primary, (Ned) Lamont edged out (Joe) Lieberman 51.8 to 48.2 percent. Unfortunately for the anti-war voters who rallied to Lamont’s side, that primary victory was the highlight of the Lamont campaign..."

Are the Tea Partiers, like the anti-war voters who backed Lamont, doomed to disappointment?

"...judging from electoral history in Kentucky and primary night voting numbers, Paul is going to need more than just the Tea Partiers to be elected to the U.S. Senate. He'll going need a solid chunk of Democratic crossovers while decisively winning the independents, but his Democratic foe is precisely the wrong kind of opponent for him to accomplish that."

1. If I were Ned Lamont, I would be mighty insulted
Tea Baggers are doomed to disappointment because they and Rand Paul are batshit crazy extremists.

2. Ned Lamont lost for one reason and only one reason.
Connecticut (unlike most states) allows a primary loser (emphasis on LOSER in this case) to switch parties (or invent a fictional party like Lieberdouche did) and run in the general.

Joe Lieberdouche won because the Republican candidate was a joke. He got the Repuke votes. Lamont got the Democratic votes.

It's not comparable at all to Rand Paul, because no Democrats (even in KY) are going to vote for his racist ass.

5. Liebermann is more likely to answer a direct question than Paul
Never have I seen so much squirming, subject changing, wild tangents etc.

6. Please . . . do not use those names in the same sentence.
Lamont was a great guy. If Lieberbush hadn't lied his pants off to get elected (ex: FOR opening Medicare to everyone), Lamont would have won.
