Bret Michaels back in the hospital...stroke and hole in heart
Damn...this guy is having a bad run.

Yesterday we watched Bret Michaels make a triumphant TV comeback on Oprah. Today, we're sending good thoughts his way.

The rocker, who recovered from a near-fatal brain hemorrhage a month ago, is back in the hospital after suffering a "warning stroke," according to a statement posted on his website.

He was readmitted this week "after suffering numbness on the left side of his body, predominately his face and hands," the statement reads. After performing some tests, his doctors discovered a hole in the Poison star's heart.

Michaels, who taped his interview with Oprah Winfrey before this setback, is still expected to recover, but his participation in this Sunday's finale of Celebrity Apprentice is in doubt, as is his planned return to the concert circuit on May 28.

3. That's too bad.
Does anyone know if this is genetic, or related to drug abuse? I'm not trying to stir up anything, I just don't know that much about him and honestly don't know anything about his history. I hate to jump on the rocker=drug abuse bandwagon, because I know that isn't necessarily the case.

8. hole in heart is commonly found in young stroke patients - genetic... aneurysm, no increase in
incidence for any suspected drug use, usually a freak incident... juvenile diabetes, genetic....

God, this guy cannot catch a damn break, all my best to him and his family during this most difficult time....

9. Thanks.
Makes me think of John Ritter, although he was older. Had a serious heart issue for years and never knew it until it was too late.

Just watched him in Bad Santa not too long ago. Saw that movie at the theatre when it came out, not long after Ritter passed away. The first scene that showed Ritter the whole theatre sighed.

10. I don't think they issued a definite cause of the hemorrhage
He is diabetic, he was hit in the head by a large piece of staging that malfunctioned as he was exiting the stage after one of his concerts, and he was a hard partying rocker. None of these reasons have been given as the diagnosis for his brain hemorrhage. I just hope he makes a full recovery this time, whatever the cause of the injury.

16. Yes, but it's hard for me to fathom that the band Poison partied like Motley Crue?

I just don't get that "hardcore drug" vibe from watching the band during the late 80s? I always got a kick out of the BIG HAIR more than anything else.

5. This sucks
As for Celebrity Apprentice, then it pretty much means Holly is going to win, and she's been my least favorite of all this season. I remember her from 21 Jump Street days, and I didn't like her then, either. She just rubs me the wrong way.

I was really hoping Bret would win, but I can't see Trump giving him the job now, considering his heath situation.

This sucks.

I just hope "the really big boss" doesn't want to say you're fired to Bret too.

6. Damn, I hope he will be alright. His recovery from the brain bleed was remarkable.
I hope he can recover quickly and without incident from this new medical issue. Poor guy, its one thing after another and its all major stuff.

15. Bummer! I like Bret Michaels.
He's one of my favorite non-celebrity acting - celebrities, i.e., he seems like a regular guy.

I hope he is FULLY on the mend soon.
