Pennsylvania Senate: Sestak 46% Toomey 42%
Thursday, May 20, 2010

Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak’s victory over longtime Senator Arlen Specter for his party’s nomination Tuesday has given him a bounce in support in Pennsylvania’s general election for U.S. Senate.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Sestak picking up 46% support over Republican nominee Pat Toomey’s 42%. Only three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate while nine percent (9%) are undecided.

Sestak’s support is up six points from earlier this month and is at its highest level yet measured in the race. Two weeks ago, Sestak and Toomey were in a virtual tie.

2. Then he is probably ahead by 8-10 in the real polls
Always add +5 to the Democrat in Rassmussen polls.

4. What (r)Assmussen failed to take into account
is that a die-hard Democratic activist is coming to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shortly - right into John Murtha's district, as a matter of fact - who will begin working in earnest on behalf of Joe Sestak for election to the U.S. Senate. I can't wait to get started!

6. Will Specter do a Lieberman? And will Obama et al support him?
We never beleived the Party could turn on a duly chosen candidate and support an "independent" like Joe but that's what happened. Could it happen again? Time will tell, but don't be surprised.

8. No. Specter was very gracious in defeat.
He will not run as an Indy (and not just because he can't) and he vowed to support Joe all the way.
