'Meet The Press' Ratings Fall To David Gregory's Second-Lowest Ever

Huffington Post | Danny Shea

"Meet the Press" fell to its second-lowest ratings under David Gregory this past Sunday.

The NBC Sunday show averaged just 2.57 million total viewers; it was enough to win first place, but also just a hair over Gregory's lowest total ever (June 21, 2009, when he averaged 2.56 million total viewers).

CBS' "Face the Nation" placed second with 2.32 million total viewers, while ABC's "This Week" placed third with 2.05 million total viewers.

In the A25-54 demo, "Meet the Press" won with 910,000, "This Week" placed second with 660,000, and "Face the Nation" placed third with 650,000.

Fox's "Fox News Sunday" placed fourth in both categories, averaging 1.22 million total viewers and 430,00 A25-54 viewers.

"Meet the Press" was down 17% week-to-week; last week, it averaged 3.08 million total viewers -- meaning it lost 510,000 viewers week-to-week.

Senators Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell were guests on "Meet the Press" Sunday.

1. Hell, who wants to watch a republicon propaganda pimp like Gregory
Edited on Fri May-21-10 05:52 AM by SpiralHawk
assume the position every Sunday?

He is republicon-owned corporate media at its stankiest.

Just visualizing him and Mitch McConnell (R) on screen together is an offense against all honor.

4. I haven't seen it since Gregory took over.
He seems like a nice guy, but they might as well give the hosting job to John King and his Magic Wonder Board. The clips I see of the show reveal Gregory as shallow and wacko-friendly. Not something I want to waste time on on a Sunday.

9. I watched MTP just about every Sunday since I was a kid...
That means for like 40 years. When gregory became the host, I gave it up. As far as I'm concerned he's got major neocon leanings.

8. How do Gregory's MTP ratings compare to Russert's?
I wonder if the show overall is losing viewers? Seems like it is. I never watch unless someone like Rachel Maddow is on. I can't stand Gregory, he's very obviously a right winger with no journalistic standards whatsoever.

I never really cared for him all that much, but when he got up there and started dancing with KKKarl Rove like everything in the world was just fine, that went over the line for me. I understand the evening was supposed to be fun, but when you're at war, and soldiers are losing their lives, I think the frivolities need to be suspended. It's in bad taste.

13. Russert had middle class roots to build off of
I'd have problems with Russert at times, but he was a hardworking man who built the show on his own hard work.

Gregory was born with a silver foot in his mouth and it shows, he was handed a gold mine and squandered rather quickly because he is a fucking tool and a piss poor pretty boy journalist.
