Is anyone celebrating the progressive net roots victory in the Kentucky Democratic Senate primary?
We've got enough Rand Paul threads.

Jack Conway is more progressive and showed more support for Obama than his conservative Democratic challenger. And yes, showing support for Obama DOES make someone more progressive when running against a conservative Democrat in Kentucky. Who cares about the Tea Party? The progressive netroots showed our power once again!

1. I don't know the area well and the candidate even less so
do you think he has a shot? With Rand Paul running his idiotic mouth off I'm kind of starting to hope we may be able to turn that asshole Bunning's seat into a real Democratic win.

I'm not familiar enough with the State though to know if my hopes might actually pay off?

3. So you were asleep last Tuesday?
Democrats voting for EITHER candidate outnumbered Republicans votes for BOTH candidates.

5. Not asleep, on a plane
when the results were coming in. Other then the Rand Paul narrative I heard very little about the KY race.

I'm just curious how well these candidates may play in a general election. I'm pretty sure Rand Paul is going to provide us with lots of laughs, I don't need to know more about this guys

4. Yes, he has a shot.
Kentucky isn't an easy state but a bad Republican candidate against a strong Democratic campaign can win. He's already a statewide office holder.

6. Anything that shoves the teabaggers
back down the throats of their Republican establishment would be welcome news. I'm looking forward to it.

7. I've been sorta. Jack ain't fixing to get mixed up with Yarmouth anytime soon
but he sucks much less than Mongiardo's snake ass. That guy would have kept his head down for a term and then turned into a more "business friendly" version of Lieberman.

8. No doubt
the better of the two won. Even if Conway doesn't act like Paul Wellstone, at least his victory would be a great way to shove it up the tea party's ass. :)

9. Jack Conway is an excellent candidate

I was really worried I would have to hold my nose and vote for Mongiardo (who was close to being as Republican as Trey Grayson, Mitch's candidate) in November. Jack Conway is a good candidate and from what I keep reading right now is saying all the right things in response to Militia-boy's idiocy. He should get better press out of it, but a handsome Democrat talking like a candidate of the people isn't nearly as jaw dropping as every word out of the mouth of that jerk he's running against.

Conway is a Kentuckian, good-looking as anything, has a track record of standing up for the little guy, and as a side note he had a horse in the Derby :) We could have had a whole lot worse to run against this fool Rand Paul. What worries me is the impact of the Churches (tax-free Republican Political Action Committees here).

(edited for spelling)
