6. I like Obama best but: |

my gut tells me Edwards is the safest pick for the general election...He should EASILY win the traditional Democratic states: NY, CA, MA, PA, etc., plus should be comeptitive in areas like Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, New Mexico, Missouri....And if he can win these areas, we can say "Fuck the South"!...

If the Democrats can't win the presidency in '08 with virtually any candidate then they are too incompetent to hold office.
After 8 years of war, scandals, crimes, and a moronic fratboy unfit to "lead" line of slugs, they should be able to run the village idiot as an improvement and win.

after Nixon and Agnew's mess. Just because Bush Inc has been terrible for America, it doesn't mean that everyone is going to be itching to vote for the (D) in 2008. Dame Rudy and McCain poll surprisingly well for being a pair of Bushbot warmongers.

I can't see that the Republicans have any substantial issues to actually run on. Other than the usual tripe of abortion, flag burning, and the gay "menace" which they have run into the ground.
Of course, you may still be right. I was of the opinion that running a certain drooling idiot of an actor was a good thing because Californians couldn't possibly be stupid enough to elect him governor.
