Pence Behind Souder's Resignation
Edited on Fri May-21-10 02:19 PM by IndianaJoe
I wonder what Pence has in mind. I don't see Mikey doing this to win "integrity" points.

Maybe he should report Ensign too.

1. Behind the scene weirdness
There's more to this story than meets the eye.

Marlin Stutzman, Republican runnerup in the Senate primary, was pals with the mistress's husband, who reportedly flew him around the state during the campaign. Stutzman immediately jumped into the race for Souder's seat on the heels of the affair becoming public and Souder resigning.

It's beginning to look like an orchestrated resignation, perhaps over a period of months.

Did Stutman run for Senate knowing that he'd likely lose to Coats, instead raising his name ID so he'd be in position for Souder's seat? How close are Pence and Stutzman? Apparently there have been rumors of the Souder affair for months if not years. Did Pence quietly manage this process on Stutzman's behalf?

I would not be surprised.
